Steps Learning Center was founded by Alexandra Batista Rodriguez, an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher with 10+ years of experience supporting neurodiverse learners. Our approach is strengths-based, practical, and focused on meaningful progress. We help each learner build skills that support learning, independence, and daily life.

Established in 2022, Steps Learning Center was created to bridge the gap between what many neurodiverse learners need and what families can realistically piece together on their own or what traditional educational settings can consistently provide. Too often, families are left trying to coordinate academic support, skill development, and therapy services without a setting designed to bring those supports together in a practical, learner-centered way.

We are an Orlando-based tutoring and developmental support center. We provide individual and very small group academic tutoring, independent living skills coaching, and social-emotional skills development. We also offer enrichment opportunities that support confidence and real-world growth. On site, we coordinate with providers for ABA, Occupational Therapy (OT), and Speech Therapy, which helps families build a more complete support plan.

We are proud to be Direct Pay Providers for the Florida Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA). We support families in understanding funding, documentation, and next steps through our Choice Navigation services. We also offer Empowering Steps, a specialized curriculum designed for homebound learning, with structure and guidance that meets learners where they are.
