About Us
Founded by Alexandra Batista Rodriguez, Steps Learning Center was created to fill the gap in special education for neurodiverse children—a gap felt deeply by families whose children struggled to thrive in traditional school settings. Too often, parents found their children’s unique strengths overlooked and their needs unmet, leading to frustration, anxiety, and a sense of isolation. Students were grouped by age instead of ability, and rarely received the individualized support or therapies essential for true growth.
At Steps, we offer a different path: our Orlando-based center provides small group instruction, integrated therapies, and a mission-driven team dedicated to every child’s progress and independence. We partner closely with families, prioritize communication, and celebrate every milestone—big or small.
Through our Choice Navigation Program, we also guide families through the complex process of securing scholarships and funding, ensuring that every child has access to the resources and support they need to succeed. Steps Learning Center is more than a school—it’s a community where every step forward is valued and every child is empowered to reach their fullest potential.
